Our Story
Helen Co., Ltd was founded more than a decade ago by Dr. Doan V. Nguyen and colleagues when he started designing systems that use desiccant materials to protect rise seeds. Realizing the disadvantages of commercial products, such as silica gel and zeolites, he focused his research on producing a desiccant product that not only displays several times higher moisture adsorption capacity compared to silica gel but also comprises mainly renewable polymers that are safe for use and transport. This product – the first of Helen’s products – was brought to life by fundamental scientific research. The company has been developing significantly since then, with thousand tons of desiccants being sold to protect agricultural products on cargo containers. Dr. Doan V. Nguyen's vision of bringing scientific discoveries to practical applications remains the backbone of the company.

Dr. Doan V. Nguyen, Founder
Dr. Doan V. Nguyen obtained his PhD degree from Wojskowa Akademia Techniczna (WAT), Warsaw, Poland. He sets the vision, creates goals, and makes strategic planning decisions. He develops products and production systems for the company. He is very passionate about promoting excellent scientific research from Vietnam.
Dr. Tu N. Nguyen, Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Tu N. Nguyen is responsible for research activities within the company. He obtained his PhD degree from the University of Florida, USA. He has worked at the University of Michigan, USA, and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. He has authored 50 peer-reviewed research articles published in high-impact scientific journals and is the co-inventor of 5 international patents.
